If you live in the Verde Valley area and are new to firearms, our Beginner Firearms Session is the perfect starting point for your journey. Owning a firearm is a serious responsibility, and a strong foundation in safety and proper handling is essential. This small-group session, capped at four participants, provides hands-on instruction in safe firearm handling, stance, grip, sight alignment, trigger control, and fundamental shooting techniques. With a focus on building confidence and competence, this 60-90 minute session ensures you leave with a solid understanding of firearm safety and the skills to continue your training responsibly.

Beginner Session Equipment List

Please bring your unloaded firearm in your transporting case to class

  • Eye protection (ANSI Z87.1-rated or better)

  • Ear protection (electronic ear muffs or foam plugs)

  • A pistol in good working condition

  • 100 rounds of range-appropriate ammunition

  • A hard or soft case for transporting your unloaded firearm

  • Note: Ensure your firearm is unloaded and securely stored in a case when attending the session.

Working from Concealment Equipment List

  • Eye protection (ANSI Z87.1-rated or better)

  • Ear protection (electronic ear muffs recommended)

  • Your carry pistol in good working condition

  • At least three magazines

  • Holster or carry method you use daily (e.g., inside-the-waistband (IWB), appendix carry, shoulder holster, etc.)

  • Appropriate clothing for your carry option (practice drawing safely from concealment with your outfit before attending)

  • 200 rounds of range-appropriate ammunition

  • A concealment garment (e.g., jacket, hoodie, or cover shirt) to simulate real-world scenarios
